One from the Vaults!

Igor, shot in 1993. for Joyce Pix, a wonderful Russian Blue breeder in Adelaide. Thanks to Jenny from CATPADS for loaning me this shot. I thought I had lost it forever. As soon as I scanned it I found my copy of it. LOL. Still many blues with from this guy on the show bench.

I was ahead of my time. It was not easy to photograph cats on film. Digital
has made it so much easier. There was not a market for this kind of work back then either so although I did photograph a few cats I was never able to make enough out of it to live on. It has been a passion of mine for many years and only now have I been able to revisit this passion.

I remember the day of shooting with Igor. He was Joyce’s pride and joy. She
was also working on increasing the number of White Russian Cats on the show bench, but this guy was her star. When I arrived the lounge room where we photographed it had a heap of little white crazy kittens running around everywhere. We had to round them up and clear the room before we could bring in the stud boy. If we didn’t, their mumma would have been hunting this sexy boy down. LOL.

Joyce passed away a few years ago and i was not able to reconnect with her
before she did. Her friends tell me that one of her most prized possessions was this photograph of Igor. It is also one of my favourite all time shots from that era in my collection.

Ragdolls Win Silver

These two babies are just adorable.

These babies are Ragdolls and have won a silver award at the 2017 Australian Professional Photography Awards run by the Australian Institute of Professional Photography (AIPP).

I really love the simplicity of this image. Obviously the judges did too. it shows their sweet profiles and fluffy little bodies in a way that is different to how other ragdolls images are captured.

Ragdolls are such a wonderfully beautiful cat.

The Ragdoll has blue eyes and mostly gray and white patterns. It is a large and muscular semi-longhair cat with a soft and silky coat. and is best known for its docile and placid temperament and affectionate nature.
